When do you apply?

After you pass, the CBR sends your result to the RDW. You can then apply for your licence at your municipality. Do not wait too long: you must apply within one and a half years of passing.

What do you bring?

  • A valid ID.
  • A recent passport photo that meets the requirements. Some municipalities take the photo themselves or use a digital photo; check your municipality’s website first.
  • The application fee. The municipality sets the costs.

How does the application work?

  1. Make an appointment at your municipality, if required.
  2. Apply for your licence at the desk.
  3. The municipality tells you when you can collect your licence. You collect it yourself, with your ID.
